Devon started painting this flamboyant little scoundrel from Titan Forge months ago. He got distracted by adulting and just finished him, but our stabby new friend was worth the wait.
MAKER MONDAY: A slime draws near!
I originally designed these Dragon Quest-inspired earrings as a single slime, but they looked like Hershey’s kisses, so I opted for a slime stack instead. They’re made from scrap wood, designed with Silhouette’s Design Studio, cut on my Glowforge, hand-painted, and domed with resin for a shiny finish.
You can find them in our store for $15.
MAKER MONDAY: I wear my heart on my earlobe
I finished these Valentine’s Day earrings just in time for the holiday last week, as a gift to myself.
I bought the design from SniggleSloth on Etsy and modified it to add a hole for the jump ring. Then I laser-cut the pieces from scrap wood, hand-painted them, sprayed them with a clear UV-resistant coating to prevent yellowing, and domed the earrings with UV resin.
MAKER MONDAY: Video game controller earrings
We’re back after a brief time-out for the holidays and to let Devon recover from his appendectomy. Devon’s doing well and made good use of the enforced downtime to work on terrain files and personal projects.
I cut these earrings on our Glowforge and hand-painted them with the new POSCA paint pens I got for Christmas. (Our kids stole my last set.) The earrings are available through our shop here and on Etsy.
In other news, we’re working on compiling all of Devon’s 3D-terrain files on a USB drive for people who want an easy-to-access format. As soon as we work out the most efficient way to fulfill and ship them, I’ll let you know how you can get one.
MAKER MONDAY: Taekwando belt rack
Devon and I joined forces to make this belt rack for our 9-year-old daughter. I have to paint a few more slats, but it’s mostly done. Next we’ll make one for our 5-year-old.
